कभी कभी कुछ खबरों को सुनकर या देखकर मैं निशब्द हो जाती हूँ। हाल ही मैं कोलकाता मेडिकल कॉलेज की खबर सुनी, सुनकर बहुत दुख हुआ।
जब भी किसी औरत या बच्चे के साथ दरिन्दगी की खबर सुनती हो, तो दिल और दिमाग़ पर क्रोध और उदासी दोनों घर कर लेते हैं, और समझ ही नहीं आता, ऐसे हादसों को किस इकाई पर नापा जाये।
शायद समय आ गया है कि हम स्वयं से यह सवाल करें, कि हमारा समाज और देश किस दिशा की तरफ़ बढ़ रहा है?
क्या हम अपने बच्चों की सही संस्कार और शिक्षा दे रहे हैं? क्या हम लोग इंसान होने का कर्तव्य पूरी निष्ठा से निभा रहे है? क्या हम अपने जन्म का सही उद्देश्य जानते हैं? क्या सचमुच एक पुरुष ही दुनिया चलाता है, या एक औरत का भी उतना ही योगदान है? क्या कुछ पुरुषों के लिए, एक औरत के शरीर को पा लेना ही सब कुछ है? क्या है पहचान एक औरत की, अपने समाज में? क्यों कुछ पुरुषों की मानसिकता इतनी गिरी हुई है, कि एक औरत के जिस्म के आगे कुछ सोच ही नहीं पता?
हालाँकि, दुनिया में, ऐसे पुरुष भी होते हैं, जो अपनी भावनाओं पर क़ाबू कर लेते है, परंतु कुछ हद पार कर देते हैं, और अक्सर इन सब का शिकार होती हैं, लड़कियाँ या औरतें।
दोष उनका भी नहीं है, आज कल के लड़के या पुरुष करे भी तो क्या करे, दिमाग़ को गंदा और उन्हें बर्बाद करने वाली जड़ तो है हमारे समाज में, आसानी से उपलब्ध है। हम सबको आसानी से कोई भी गंदी फ़िल्म, या किताबें मिल जाती हैं। दूसरी, उस गंदी सोच पर ‘आग में घी’ का काम करती है, शराब या नशे की लत, तीसरी बीमारी, जो संभवतः सभी को है, वह है, ज़्यादा पैसा कमाने, और ज़्यादा मज़े लेने की तलब।
देश को चलाने और नियम बनाने वाले लोग यह नहीं जानते कि यह तीन आदतें किसी भी देश, या समाज के लिए दीमक की तरह है।
इसके अलावा दो और जो देश को पीछे कर सकती है, और वह दो हैं- बेरोज़गारी, और शिक्षा का स्तर। बेरोज़गारी और इंसान का कम पढ़ा लिखा होना, उससे बहुत कुछ ग़लत कार्य करवा सकता है। इसलिए सरकार को चाहिए कि कोई भी बेरोज़गार और अशिक्षित ना हो।
दुःख की बात तो यह है कि हमारे समाज में क़ानून और व्यवस्था का निर्माण ही ग़लत तरीक़े से होता है।नियम बनाते समय सत्ता और संघठन में शामिल हुए कुछ लोग तो इस पर सोच विचार ही नहीं करते हैं, कि उस का हित अनहित क्या होगा, किसके भले या बुरे के लिए होगा, यह सब बिना जाने कोई भी नियम बना या हटा देते हैं। अक्सर तो जो कानों को सुनने में इन्हें अछा लगा, या ज़्यादा हाँ मिली तो नियम बना दिये।
हमें सबसे पहले यह जानना चाहिए कि हमारे देश की सबसे कमज़ोर कड़ी क्या है? क्या है जिससे देश का नाक कट सकती है? क्या कारण है कि देश हमारा बदनाम या पीछे है, या हो सकता है? दूसरों को यह दिखाना कि ‘हम किसी से कम नहीं है’ वाला बर्ताव सदैव देश को चार कदम पीछे ही ले जाता है। इसलिए फोकस सबसे पहले ख़ुद को बेहतर बनाने में करना चाहिए।
सरकार को हमेशा सबसे पहले अपने देश की कमज़ोर कड़ी पर ध्यान देना चाहिए, क्योंकि मौक़ा मिलते ही दूसरे इनका फ़ायदा उठा सकते है। फिर देश की सबसे बड़ी समस्या पर काम करना चाहिए, समस्या की जड़ तक जाना चाहिए, और उसे जड़ से उखाड़कर फेंकने के बाद, दूसरे समस्या का भी कुछ ऐसा ही समाधान ढूँढना चाहिए। अपने देश को क्या और कौन बर्बाद कर रहा है, इस पर ध्यान देना चाहिए। ऐसे कौन से नियम या व्यवस्था को लागू करें ताकि देश को प्रगति की तरफ़ ले जा सके, और शांति पूर्वक चलाया जा सके। अच्छे अच्छे निर्माण और चेहरे पर ख़ुशी लाने के बजाय, सत्ता में आते ही कुछ लोग इंसानियत जैसे भूल ही जाते है।
कभी किसी रक्षक के साथ हादसा होता है, तो कभी एक रक्षक दरिंदा बन जाता है।
अब हमें अपने बच्चों को यह सीख देनी होगी कि एक औरत का अस्तित्व इस दुनिया में माँ, बहन, दोस्त, प्रेमिका और पत्नी से कहीं ज़्यादा है। एक औरत अगर असहाय अवस्था में मिले, तो उसे इज़्ज़त के साथ उसके घर तक छोड़कर आओ, ना कि उसकी इज़्ज़त से खेल जाओ।
I recently came across the news regarding the rape and murder incident in Kolkata, which left me deeply saddened.
Certain news can leave me speechless, unable to find the right words to express my thoughts or emotions.
Whenever I hear about atrocities committed against a woman or a child, I am overcome with a mix of anger and sadness that is hard to put into words. I cannot determine an accurate measure of the profound depths of horror.
Perhaps it is time for us to ask ourselves: How does our society and country feel and smell, and what does that tell us about the direction we are heading?
Are we instilling our children with the proper values and equipping them with a quality education? Are we genuinely fulfilling our responsibilities as human beings with absolute sincerity? Do we truly comprehend the profound meaning behind our existence? Is the world controlled solely by men, or do women play an equal role in shaping it? Do some men strive to possess a woman’s body as their goal? How do we define the position of women in our society? Why do some men have such a low mindset that they can’t see beyond a woman’s physical appearance? Although some men can manage their emotions, a significant number overstep boundaries, resulting in frequent victimization of girls and women.
It’s not entirely their fault, circumstances played a role as well. The influence of damaging factors in our society is readily accessible and affects the boys and men of today. We have easy access to inappropriate films and books. In addition, the negative thinking is intensified by addiction to substances like alcohol or drugs, and the third factor, which affects almost every individual, is the relentless desire for greater wealth and pleasures.
Those in power who create and enforce laws often fail to recognize that these three habits can erode any country or society, like termites.
Moreover, two additional factors that can hold a country back are unemployment and the level of education. Unemployment and lack of education can lead individuals to engage in negative activities. Thus, the government should ensure that no one remains unemployed or uneducated.
It is disheartening that laws and regulations in our society are often created inappropriately. Those involved in making rules rarely consider the broader implications or who will benefit or suffer from them. Decisions are frequently made based on what sounds good or receives the most approval.
We must first identify the most vulnerable aspect of our nation. What could damage the country’s reputation or hinder its progress? Showing that ‘we are no less than anyone else’ will only pull the country back. Therefore, the focus should be on improving ourselves first.
Given the opportunity, others may take advantage of the weakest link in our country, so it is essential that we focus on strengthening it. In addition, it is imperative to prioritize the country’s most significant problems, addressing their core issues, and seeking analogous solutions for other challenges.
Attention should be given to what or who is destroying our country. We need to implement rules or systems that will guide the country towards progress and peace. Instead of fostering development and happiness, some people in power forget humanity once they attain authority.
Sometimes, a protector encounters an accident, and sometimes a protector becomes the predator.
We must now teach our children that a woman’s existence is much more than just being a mother, sister, friend, lover, or wife. If you encounter a woman in a vulnerable state, treat her with respect and take her home safely, rather than violating her dignity.
